Meet Our Founder

Great outcomes require invested people.

Dr. Colby Courville is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, United States Coast Guard veteran, and the founder of Maverick Performance Physical Therapy. He created Maverick Performance with a simple belief: exceptional outcomes require exceptional care.

Originally from Southwest Louisiana, Colby grew up in a culture built around sports, hard work, and community. Athletics played a central role in his life from an early age, shaping his understanding of discipline, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence. At fifteen, his family relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, where his passion for faith, movement, performance, and the Gulf Coast continued to grow.

Before entering the medical field, Colby served in the United States Coast Guard, an experience that strengthened his leadership, accountability, and commitment to service. Those values remain foundational to how he practices today—showing up prepared, focused, and dedicated to helping others perform at their best.

Colby went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Throughout his career, he has treated patients across the country in orthopedic clinics, trauma hospitals, and rehabilitation settings, working with everyone from high-level athletes to individuals recovering from complex injuries.

These experiences ultimately shaped the vision behind Maverick Performance.  Maverick Performance was designed as a more focused, performance-driven environment where individuals receive personalized attention and thoughtful, high-level care.

Dr. Courville’s approach blends hands-on treatment, dry needling, movement science, and performance training to help clients not only recover from injury, but move with confidence and perform at a higher level in their lives.

For Colby, physical therapy is about far more than rehabilitation. It’s about renewing strength, returning hope, unlocking potential, and helping people get back to the activities that make life meaningful.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys traveling, exploring new food and culture, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and staying active through sports and training. These interests continue to shape his belief that health, movement, and performance should ultimately support a rich and fulfilling life.
